Item 2979 is a compact handcrafted women’s leather handbag, made in the Cellerini workshop at Via del Sole 9 in Florence. Its structured shape, top handle and detachable shoulder strap allow it to be carried by hand or over the shoulder. It measures 21 × 16 × 10 cm and holds the essentials you need throughout the day.
A compact design to carry by hand or on the shoulder
The design is clean and well defined. The geometric flap features a stepped profile that frames the turn-lock closure. Four 7 mm solid brass protective feet are fitted to the base.
The shoulder strap is made from the same leather as the bag. Its standard length is 90 cm, but it can be adapted to the customer’s preference. Two snap hooks make the strap easy to attach or remove. Item 2979 can therefore be carried as a top-handle bag or worn as a leather shoulder bag.
Full-grain calfskin and a carefully finished interior
The exterior is crafted from Alce leather, Cellerini’s commercial name for full-grain pebbled calfskin with a semi-aniline finish. The photographed version combines Alce Polvere on the main body with Alce Azzurro on the side gussets and top handle.
The interior is lined in red boar leather and includes two open pockets. It has room for a phone, wallet, keys, tissues and other small everyday essentials.
Handcrafted in the Cellerini workshop in Florence
Every Item 2979 is made in the Cellerini workshop in Florence. The preparation, bonding, coloring, assembly and finishing stages are carried out by hand. Only the stitching is completed using traditional sewing machines.
All metal hardware is made in Italy from solid brass. It can be gold- or palladium-plated, depending on the selected configuration.

You can choose the exterior leather, lining color, thread color, hardware plating, type of turn-lock closure and shoulder strap length. These customization options are included in the €530 price.
The weight varies according to the selected leather. Natural differences in grain, color or surface are features of the leather and the handcrafted process, not product defects.
Availability, lead time and care
The bag is not always available in the atelier. When it is made to order, the current estimated lead time is 6-7 months. Availability and delivery times should be confirmed before the order is placed.
Care instructions vary according to the selected leather. Cellerini can provide the most suitable guidance at the time of delivery. The workshop also assesses maintenance or restoration requests on a case-by-case basis.
